Changes to Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) in 2025
In March 2025, New Zealand’s Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) program underwent significant changes, impacting both employers and migrants. Key updates include the removal of wage thresholds, a reduction in the required work experience from 3 to 2 years for most roles, and an increased visa duration for lower-skilled roles.
These changes are a big step forward for the AEWV scheme, they offer more flexibility for employers and better opportunities for skilled migrants. However, navigating the immigration process can still be tricky, especially when hiring internationally.
